A native New Yorker with a background in dance and yoga, Sherry had no idea that a move to Las Vegas in 1995 would result in her opening the Yoga Sanctuary studio only two years later. More
humbling, that the studio would become one of the most highly regarded yoga centers in the United
States, drawing yogis from around the globe and world-renowned teachers like Annie Carpenter,
Dharma Mittra, Kino MacGregor, Seane Corn, Saul David Raye and Bryan Kest. Her mission from the get-go was to shift others’ life experiences for the better much like hers was shifted when she was introduced to yoga. The best testament to her perseverance is the thousands of happy spirits who have attended her classes. A Certified Yoga Teacher with a B.A. in Education, Sherry is also a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga
Alliance. In addition, she has extensive training in dance, movement and meditation. A love for Eastern philosophy led her to some of the world’s great yoga masters, most notably, Dharma Mittra. Her own dynamic yoga style soon evolved — flowing, vibrant, inspiring and spiced with humor.
Learning to relax and be joyful, building inner and outer strength, following your true authentic self and ultimately finding peace, these are the visions Sherry hopes to realize for her students. For Sherry,
there is nothing more rewarding then seeing her students apply what they learn on the mat to flourish as
human beings off the mat.
